Sponsor the Summit

The National Rural Grocery Summit is the premier networking and resource-sharing venue for independent grocers and rural food access stakeholders. It brings together people from across the country to learn from and strategize with one another about sustaining rural grocery stores and improving access to healthy foods.

2024 Host Organizations

For the first time ever, the summit will be held outside of Kansas and will be co-hosted by the Rural Grocery Initiative at Kansas State University and the Hunger Solutions Institute at Auburn University.

National Reach

The summit brings together grocery store owners, food suppliers, business leaders, University faculty and staff, students, nonprofit leaders, government agencies and more. In 2022, the summit drew over 200 attendees from 35 states and Washington, D.C. Over 30% of registered participants were grocers.

Summit Topics

Topics discussed at the summit include grocery operations best practices, business transition planning, innovation in rural grocery, nutrition incentive programs, rural food access research, and more.
