National Rural Grocery Summit Call for Presentations Reminder
Kansas State University’s Rural Grocery Initiative will host the Fifth National Rural Grocery Summit on June 6-7 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita, Kan. We will gather together and discover ways to strengthen our rural grocery stores and the communities they reside in.
Last year, over 200 participants attended the summit, and the number is expected to grow even more this year. Presentations are a key component of this important conference, and we invite members and their organizations to consider this opportunity.
Topics for presentation may include, but are not limited to, subjects such as food deserts, rural grocery best practices, models of grocery store ownership, financing store operations, and policy options to promote and sustain grocery store operations. More suggestions are listed at conferences.k-state.edu/ruralgrocery/call-for-presentations.
Presentations may take the form of projects, posters, case studies, or original research. Subjects should be broadly related to rural grocery development and/or sustainability.
To submit papers or proposals, please visit conferences.k-state.edu/ruralgrocery/call-for-presentations. The submission deadline is March 15. Participants will receive notification by April 1. For any questions, please call 785-532-6868.
